Different statements may use different valuation methods. None of these figures is automatically wrong — they simply answer different questions.
Underlying metal value
The precious-metal content multiplied by a current benchmark price.
Dealer-provided value
A dealer may use retail, replacement or another proprietary valuation methodology.
Custodian-reported value
May reflect the valuation methodology used by the custodian or valuation provider.
Estimated liquidation value
An estimate of what the metals may bring if sold in the current market.

Why Does the Gold Price on Your Purchase Date Matter?
To understand the economics of a precious-metals transaction, it is important to compare what you paid with the underlying value of the gold or silver on the date you purchased it.
